Ekonomie is ‘n wye meer gespesialiseerde veld waarin die ekonomie as geheel van ‘n land bestudeer word asook alle aspekte wat ‘n rol daarin speel, soos byvoordeeld:
- Inkome - , bestedings en produksie patrone.
- Faktore wat ‘n invloed het op die sakesektor
- Vasstellings van pryse en die invloed daarvan op besteding en produksie
- Wisselkoerse: rand / dollar verhouding
- Markte: plaaslik, nasionaal en globaal (internasionaal)
- Internasionale handel en beleide rondom invoer en uitvoer
- Funksies van die staat in die ekonomie
- Begroting: toewysing van fondse aan die verskillende sektore binne die ekonomie en nog vele meer !
Besigheidstudies bestudeer ondernemings / sakesektor in die besonder en gee.onderandere aandag aan die volgende aspekte.
- Sakeomgewing ( vlakke van bestuur )
- Sakeplan, sake geleenthede en kontrakte
- Selfbestuur, beeld van die onderneming en spanbou
- Sake bedrywighede: finansiering , aankope. Administrasie , ens.
Aanbevelings :
- Ekonomie op skoolvlak word hoog aanbeveel indien u die vak by ‘n tersiêre inrigting wil neem, want dit voorsien waardevolle agtergrond. Is moeilik op tesiêre vlak sonder nodige agtergrond.
- Rekeningkunde as vak by tersiêre inrigting vereis baie keer dat Ekonomie as eerstejaarsvak geneem moet word.
- Ekonomie word sterk aanbeveel vir alle B. Com rigtings , Toerisme en Hotelbestuur.
- Besigheidstudies kan met gemak op Tersiêre vlak geneem word sonder agtergrond op skoolvlak omdat die inhoud baie meer algemeen is.
- Beroepsmoontlikhede met Ekonomie: Geoktrooieerde Rekenmeester, Ekonoom, Navorsing by WNNR, Aandelemakelaar , ens.

ECONOMICS VERSUS BUSINESS STUDIES
Economics is a very specialised subject and makes a study of the economics of the world.
It deals with aspects such as :

- International trade policy : imports and exports

- Business plan, business opportunities and contracts
- Self management, image of the business and team building

- Economics at school level is strongly recommended if you want to take it as a university subject.
- It provides necessary background that is needed for a teriary level.
- Accounting at university level requires a candidate to take Economics as a first year subject.
- Economics is strongly recommended for field of studies, such as B.Com, Tourism and Hotel Management.
