• When do applications for grade 8 open for 2024
  Applications for the grade 8 open in 15 June 2023. This is done online on the Gauteng Department Of Education website.
• Where do I find the link to apply?
  To apply visit https://www.gdeadmissions.gov.za/
• When do applications for 2024 close?
  Applications will close in 14 July 2023
• How will I know if my application was successful?
  Parents and guardians will receive an SMS notification of placements and offers either to accept or decline Please note: Apply with a reliable and working cellphone number in order to receive notifications on application.
• Uploading of official documentation
  Certified copies of documentation must be submitted within 7 (seven) days of application.
• What documentation is required when applying?
  1. Parent and Child ID document or Passport
  2. Refugee Permit (if applicable)
  3. Asylum Seeker Permit (if applicable)
  4. Permanent Residence Permit (if applicable)
  5. Study Permit (if applicable)
  6. South African Birth Certificate
  7. Latest Proof of residence not older than 3 months
  8. Proof of Work address
  9. Latest School Report
• How is my placement conducted?
  admissions are conducted as per admission regulations:
  1. Home address within the feeder zone.
  2. Siblings.
  3. Work address.
  4. Within 30km Radius.
  5. Beyond 30km Radius.
• Fees
  1. A Compulsory occupation of space fee of R 3500.00 is payable to Dr. Johan Jurgens High School on successful application. This includes the 2024 Grade 8 T-shirt.
  2. A Compulsory R 100.00 Textbook Handling fee is also applicable.
